What: Colorado Enterprise Fund (CEF) will once again participate in the 2018 Denver Startup Week (Sept. 24 – 28). The seventh annual event is the world’s largest free celebration of the entrepreneurial spirit. Designed to unite the entrepreneurial community in Downtown Denver and beyond, the event celebrates great companies, innovation, ideas and people. Many of the sessions are free and open to the public (registration requested).
Denver Startup Week fosters an environment where professionals and entrepreneurs can learn, grow, and prepare for their next challenge. In 2017, the event brought 19,000 people together through 376 programs to celebrate Denver’s thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem as well as build the center city’s culture of innovation.
“CEF accelerates community prosperity by financing and supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses throughout the state of Colorado,” said Colorado Enterprise Fund CEO Ceyl Prinster. “Since our founding, we have provided 34% of all of our loans to startups. This event is a perfect forum for us to share CEF’s services and expertise with entrepreneurs in Colorado.”

- 12:00 – 1:30 pm: Alternative Funding Sources for Early Stage Startups Panel Discussion. The traditional largest sources of startup capital (community banks and personal savings) have declined significantly since the Great Recession. This panel will discuss alternative sources of capital for launching new businesses in Colorado and early stage business growth. CA Technologies, 1550 Wynkoop St., 2R, Denver.
The panel will feature CEF Director of Lending Alan Ramirez. Other panelists include representatives from the Denver Office of Economic Development and the Colorado Health Foundation, as well as CEF borrower and local innovator:
Ethan Bach, http://altethos.com/: Combining a keen sense of design, social awareness, and novel use of interactive technology, Ethan Bach leads the media studio, Alt Ethos Ltd. The start-up shapes the landscape of “experience design” into one that activates local communities, addresses social and environmental issues, and brings people together. One of The Westword’s 100 Colorado Creatives in 2018, Ethan Bach was touted for “connecting with audiences through mind-blowing imagery and technological tricks of light.”
