Q&A with Owner, Todd Olson

Give a high level overview of your business. What products or services you offer, where you're located, etc.
In business since 2021, we offer private infrared sauna sessions combined with salt therapy for the lungs and skin. We also offer red-light therapy, cold plunges, and bodywork. We are located in the Mandala Clinic/ Mock Realty building at 825 South Broadway.

How did the idea for your business come about?
I got good results for asthma from salt therapy sessions. I didn’t get financing for “Salty Yoga Studios” at first- with the intention to lay people over bolsters in restorative yoga poses while breathing the salty air. I did get financing for a smaller project though, and that was my start.

What neighborhood is your business located in and what do you love about that location?
I am right on South Broadway a half block from Whole Foods and other amenities in the nearby mall. Just close enough to all of that but far enough to have ample parking.

What led your business to seek out new/additional funding?
An attractive room opened up in my building and the timing was right to expand- adding a cold plunge room with another salt/sauna and a red-light therapy table. I knew I could make the room into a healthy sanctuary.

How did you find out about CEF?
I sought advice from Colorado’s Small Business Association and they recommended CEF.

What ultimately made you decide to go with CEF as your lender?
The rates were good and it seemed a good fit for my fledgeling business.

What were you able to do with the funding you received from CEF?
I remodeled an expansion room and equipped it with a deluxe cold plunge with aromatherapy diffuser and a 4-person infrared sauna.

Tell us about some of the defining moments for you in your business, whether struggles or successes.
Having only a room with a salt/sauna at first was a challenge in the slow months while taking on other opportunities. Summers were tough! But now I can focus on my business full time with a cold plunge room added. I expect to be busy year-round and I have further expansion plans in the fall.

What recent success(es) have you experienced in your business?
After expansion I had four record-breaking revenue months in a row.
