Denver, January 12, 2015 – Colorado Enterprise Fund (CEF) has been awarded a $30,000 Community Grant from the Economic Opportunity Fund of The Denver Foundation to maintain and grow CEF’s small business lending program in 2015. This funding will focus on expanding CEF’s capacity-building entrepreneurial development services (business technical assistance) to minority and low income business borrowers who account for over half of CEF’s borrowers.
"We are honored to receive this special grant award from The Denver Foundation," said Ceyl Prinster, President and CEO of CEF. “CEF is focused on building economic equality through small business development and this grant allows CEF to directly respond to the unprecedented demand for equitable access to responsible capital and business technical assistance. The Denver Foundation’s support of our work helps us create more opportunities for entrepreneurial success and jobs across Colorado.”
The grant award from The Denver Foundation stated: “Since 1976, Colorado Enterprise Fund (CEF) has been a critical part of the ecosystem supporting Colorado’s socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs and small business owners. CEF’s pairing of quality technical assistance both before and after a loan is made with loan products that are accessible to lower-income borrowers makes it a valued partner with entrepreneurs who are working to transform their lives and the lives of their families and communities through successful small business ownership.”
