Denver, August 11, 2014 – Colorado Enterprise Fund (CEF) announced it is a finalist in the nonprofit category of the Top Company Awards presented annually by ColoradoBiz magazine. This year marks the second time CEF has been a finalist in this category. Other nonprofit finalists include The Home Front Cares and Habitat for Humanity of Metro Denver. Winners will be announced the evening of August 28 at the Seawell Grand Ballroom in Denver.
Now in its 27th year, the mission of the annual ColoradoBiz Top Company Awards Program is to provide a rigorous competition resulting in the announcement of Colorado’s most outstanding businesses and nonprofit organizations. Finalists in the 13 categories for these awards will join a who’s who list of Colorado’s most notable businesses and organizations. The CEO from each winning company or organization will also attend a C-level retreat in Napa Valley, California.

Colorado Enterprise Fund is a nonprofit community development financial institution (CDFI) providing financing, training and resources to help small businesses succeed,thus improving the economic vitality and diversity of local communities across the state.
Founded in1976, CEF, independently or in partnership with other lending institutions, provides loans up to $500,000 to finance small businesses and start-ups that are unable to secure funding through traditional channels.
With a mission to accelerate community prosperity by financing and supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses, CEF has provided over $35 million in loans to more than 1600 businesses to help create or retain over 9600 jobs in the state since 1990.
